37 1/2 weeks pregnant

My Mom called to tell me that she and Billy have their “blue shirts” ready to wear to the hospital…I told her that was a cute idea but I had my “blue toes” ready for the hospital

37 Week Appointment today

We are so excited for our appointment today at 11:15!!

Doing another ultrasound and we are getting closer!  He is offically full term.  I am ready to deliver but will be more than happy if he decides he needs to bake another week or two.  I can’t wait to meet him

Wyatt Orion Stanka

Wyatt

The meaning of his name is “little warrior” or “strong/brave/hardy war” and still I have found other places that Wyatt means “water”.  We are happy with all these and can’t wait to meet our “Little Warrior”

Orion         [uh-rahy-uhn]

Story behind picking out Orion was that Jon was reading in Amos 5.  He wanted to share a verse that he thought was cool to him and I immediately fell in love with it and the name Orion.  What an awesome scripture.  I hope that this is one of the 1st verses that Wyatt memorizes.  It is a hard one b/c I am still trying to memorize ;0

Middle Names

Why are we having such a hard time picking a middle name for Wyatt?  One would think the middle name would be much easier to pick then the 1st… Not TRUE!

We have narrowed it down to 3:

Wyatt Orion      (Jon was reading a bible verse in Amos and I fell in love w/ the name)

Wyatt James           (after Jim)

Wyatt Phillip          (Jon’s middle name)

We might wait until after the delivery to see him :0  Still debating

On my last visit to Austin I fell in love with this print.  I hope it is not too “girly”.. I ended up changing the valance, couple of pics, and a lamp.. The room is finally finished.  Now all we need is Wyatt  We are soooo excited!

New Year’s Resolutions

1. To read the bible and soap journal everyday… More on soap journaling- click here

(this website explains what S.O.A.P. journaling is all about and has a sample list of scriptures to read…. if you want a copy of the scriptures that I have I can easily scan them and send out.. just let me know.. you can read through the bible in one year… reading 30 minutes a day…. I also have a plan that allows you to read 15 minutes a day… I will email to anyone that is interested

2. Stop drinking cokes…

(I did this one two years ago and quite cokes for about a year.. When I was about 3 or 4 months pregnant I started getting headaches and after having a “real coke” it went away.. I just needed a little caffine.. Well, now I LOVE having a coke a day (sometimes 8oz sometimes 12oz) Anyway, I am addicted and need to quit.. So, farewell coca-cola… I don’t need ya anymore!) (I don’t think  (I have one exception w/ coke… I can have it if I do fast food which is not very often

3.  Be the best wife, parent, sister, friend, and daughter that I can…..

(To focus my time and energy on the people that matter most in my life. Think before I talk, love always, and have fun!)

4. Get back into work out mode….

(so I know that everyone probably has this on their list but I REALLY am going to do it!  I miss being active!!! I have not been able to jog, lift weights, or do a lot of physical activity since being pregnant and having a couple of HUGE scares through the pregnancy… If you are not able to do something it makes you want to do it more… and that is where I am right now.  I plan on playing on a softball league this year, walking and jogging with Jon, Wyatt, and the dogs, and doing some weights to help tone my arms!)

New Year’s Eve at home…

Low key night but lots of fun.  I really did not think that I would make it until midnight but to my surprise I did!  My sweet husband started out very early with one of his friends, Jeremy, so by midnight he was fast asleep in our bed.  I kissed him on the head at midnight and had a bowl of ice cream to bring in the new year and hit the bed.

Jon and I bought a t.v. and a Wii and had fun playing some games and hanging out.

I realized I miss work lots….

Jon and I went to the hospital for a tour of L&D and nursery.  Of course he has been to the nursery but I wanted us to get the full experience and I am glad we did the tour.  It was fun walking around the unit with Jon and talking about delivering in the very near future.  I must admit I am a little nervous but more excited than nervous.

I am so so thankful that we have made it this far! When we were early on and having problems we prayed and prayed that Wyatt would keep growing, be a healthy and strong baby, and stay inside me on for me not to deliver early.  Now we are at 35 weeks and God has more than answered our prayers!

We are so excited to meet Wyatt and to start our new chapter of life with him!

After the tour I said hello to all my fellow nurses.  Wow… I realized how much I miss working there!  The team there is wonderful and I love working with the babies.  I am excited to get back to work two days a week.  Jon and I have decided I will go back part-time… It will be perfect! I look forward to getting back into the NICU and helping the precious babies.

Christmas with the Stanka’s

On Christmas Day Jon and I went to Grandad and Granny’s house for a nice day together.  We played dominos and watched movies. It is very relaxing at G&G’s and it was great to spend time with them and Josh, Kelly, Audrey, Emmie, and Harrison.
