Possible Names

Jon and I have been throwing a couple of names around but nothing set in stone just yet.

First names:

Wyatt   (means Water in French)

Noah   (means Rest/Comfort in Hebrew)

James

Ian- (means God is Gracious)

Middle:

James (after Jon’s Father)

Emmet (after my PawPaw)

Dylan

Gray

It’s A BOY!!!!

Jon and I had our 20 week appointment yesterday and received such a wonderful, shocking surprise

It is a Boy!!!!

Highlights of the visit:

1. The wonderful shocking news that he was a BOY when we have been thinking girl.

2. The ultrasound tech laughing because our baby boy kept “showing off his goods”

3. Him sucking his thumb at one point during the ultrasound (too cute!)

4. Him yawning

5. Him holding his feet with his precious little hands

We are so blessed to have a healthy boy growing inside me. I am in a state of euphoria when I feel him moving around.  It is the best feeling every!!!

Here are some stats: HR 157 current weight 14oz (larger than average at this point of gestation-  Jon was 9lbs 15oz at birth so I am getting nervous about that)

Talked with Dr. Cole and the decision was made to stay off work and on bed rest until 30 weeks gestation until we know that everything would be fine with the baby if I were to deliver. I will return to work then for 2 months and then off for another 2 months with the precious boy.  If something were to happen and I went into labor at work there is not much that she could do at this point in my pregnancy and the baby would not be viable.  She thinks we should play it safe and we totally agree.  Nothing is worth loosing this perfect blessing!

I have been feeling the baby move! What a wonderful thing to experience!

Jon and I are starting a new Bible Study Methods class next Tues.  It will be every Tues until Dec. 15th.  Looks pretty challenging but I know it will be just as rewarding!

All was well at the Dr. Appointment and the spotting/bleeding had stopped. Dr. Cole gave me the ok to go back to work.  Went to work for 1 week and all was well until Aug. 25th when I started bleeding at work.  Guess what?  BED REST orders again and no work.

Boy or Girl???

Jon had a dream right before we got pregnant that we had a baby girl and that it was “long”. That is all he remembered from the dream.  :)

Jon and I did the intelleGender test and it said GIRL!

It is suppose to be 90 % accurate in clinical studies and 82% accurate in at home studies.

On July 29th I had a 12 week 6 day ultrasound b/c of some more bleeding.  EVERYTHING LOOKED GREAT!!! PRAISE GOD!  The tech said she could have probably told us the sex of the baby but the baby was not cooperating

1st visit with Dr. Cole

We went to visit Dr. Cole on July 7th.  I was 9 weeks, 5 days. She changed our due date to Feb. 4th.

On June 18th Billy and Mom came over for an early Father’s Day dinner.  We had steak and lobster.  Jon had to go get the lobster from HEB and the poor little things were moving around in the bags trying to get out.  Little did they know that they were about to be our dinner.

I LOVE STEAK! I would say it is one of my favorite things to eat.  We bought nice steaks that night for the Father’s day dinner.  I remember the whole dinner I thought something tasted weird about the steak.  Everyone was enjoying their steak…. everyone except ME!  I thought it tasted rotten.. Everyone disagreed with me but I could not eat it.  Later, I will find out this was Baby inside your belly CLUE #1. (hello food aversions)

That weekend we went to visit Julia in College Station.  What a relaxing weekend.  We went to join her at the Steak and Red Wine Festival.  We had a great day hanging with Julia in her quaint house in Bryan.  Jon and Julia played the piano.  While they were playing beautiful music I realized that I had tears in my eyes and excused myself to the bathroom. We went to the festival had a great time listening to music and meeting Julia’s friends.  I had 1 glass of wine and a beer.  When we got back to Julia’s I did not feel so well.  I laid down to go to sleep and woke up about an hour after falling asleep.  I barely made it to the toilet to throw all my dinner up. I had nausea the next couple of days and was very sensitive to smells.  Jon kept telling me “Are you sure you are not pregnant?”  I kept telling him “there is no way.. I have been spotting and had a period and could not be pregnant.”

Finally on June 23rd Jon talked me into taking a pregnancy test and it was positive.  Not once, not twice, but 3 times it was positive!

That is how we found out and all the little clues leading up to us finding out

We also found out that the time of implantation was when we were in VEGAS!

BEST NEWS 1st!

June 23rd 2009…… We found out I was pregnant!!!!!

I did 3 pregnancy tests that day and all three were positive.  I was shocked b/c I had been spotting and bleeding (tmi) and thought there was no chance I was preggo.  On the 24th I went to the Dr. office to do an ultrasound and we found out we were already 8 weeks and 2 days along and got to hear the heartbeat. What an amazing feeling!  THe HR was 168. Dr. Dunn said my due date would be Feb. 2, 2010. We were soooo excited!
